The 2nd stewardess/steward has moved beyond general cleaning and turnover duties to take on more guest-facing service, often specialising in an area like service, wine or laundry, and supporting the chief stewardess in running the department.

Leading table service, drinks service and guest events
Specialising in an area such as wine and beverage, laundry or guest relations
Supervising junior stewardesses and housekeepers on specific tasks
Managing provisioning and inventory for their area of responsibility
Getting hired
A season or more of junior interior experience
STCW Basic Safety Training and a valid ENG1
Service-specific courses such as silver service, wine and beverage, or barista training
Typical pay
2nd stewardesses typically earn €3,000–€4,200 a month.
