Focused purely on cleaning and presentation standards — found on the largest interior teams.

On yachts with a big enough interior team, housekeeping is sometimes split out from general stewardess duties into its own role — keeping cabins, guest areas and crew areas spotless to a five-star standard, without the service/guest-facing side of the job.
What the job actually involves
Deep-cleaning and presentation of guest cabins, bathrooms and common areas
Laundry and linen care to hotel standard
Restocking amenities and maintaining cleaning schedules
Working closely with stewardesses on turnaround between guest changeovers
Getting hired
Housekeeping experience from hotels or a similar hospitality background
STCW Basic Safety Training and a valid ENG1
An eye for detail and speed under pressure during guest changeovers
Usually an entry point into the interior department on larger yachts, similar to a junior stewardess role
Typical pay
Housekeepers typically earn €2,300–€3,000 a month, similar to a junior stewardess.
